The Gulmarg Gondola is among the world's highest cable cars, climbing from Gulmarg (2,690m) to Apharwat Peak (4,000m) in two stages. The views from the top span from Nanga Parbat to the Himalayan range. In winter it accesses legendary powder skiing; in summer it offers alpine meadows and snow patches even in July. The gondola was built by POMA (France) and operates year-round weather permitting.
