About Betaab Valley

Betaab Valley, nestled on the Lidder River just upstream from Pahalgam, takes its name from the 1983 Bollywood hit Betaab filmed here. But its appeal predates cinema - it is where the Sheshnag and Lidder rivers meet amid pine forests and rolling green meadows beneath snow-capped ridges. The valley's surreal palette of turquoise water, deep green pines, and white peaks made it the natural choice for countless films. Today visitors come for pony rides, photography, riverside picnics, and gentle walks through the surrounding woodlands. It is one of the most accessible 'postcard Kashmir' moments - a 15-minute drive from Pahalgam town.
