About Sinthan Top

Sinthan Top is a breathtaking 3,800-metre mountain pass on the Anantnag–Kishtwar road, offering a thrilling high-altitude viewpoint with snow patches even in mid-summer and 360° views of the Pir Panjal and Greater Himalayas. The pass marks the geographical divide between the green Breng valley of Kashmir and the dramatic Chenab gorges of Jammu. The ascent from Daksum winds through dense pine forests and alpine meadows; at the top, prayer flags flutter over a small chai stall serving kahwa to chilled travellers. It remains gloriously off the tourist trail and is best combined with Kokernag, Verinag and Daksum on a south Kashmir circuit.
